The Ohaneze Ndigbo has warned that most Igbos may soon join Biafra agitation is the region continues to be marginalised and treated unfairly.
Chief John Nnia Nwodo who is the president-general of the apex Igbo group said he was not a tribalist having been the President of the University of Ibadan students’ union but as the Ohaneze leader, he had to convey the message of his people.
Over one million and two hundred thousand candidates reportedly enrolled for the ongoing 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
The Registrar/Chief Executive of the National Examinations Council (NECO), Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, disclosed this in Jos, Plateau State capital, on Friday, August 4, Naija News reports.
According to Wushishi, a total of 1,205,888 candidates registered for the examinations.
The academician, who spoke while monitoring the conduct of the examination in some schools today, noted that out of the said figure, 601,074 candidates are males while 584,814 are females.
